Anti-Wrinkle Injections Reduce the signs of ageing

The Problem

Your skin is like a piece of paper, the more you crease it, the more permanent the creases become. Strong frown muscles cause the typical number 11s between the brows, strong squint muscles cause crow’s feet and strong forehead muscles cause the horizontal wrinkles in the forehead. When you are young the skin just springs back and there are no visible wrinkles at rest, but as you age and the skin loses elasticity the wrinkles are present even at rest. These wrinkles contribute to making your face look older than it need.

What is Botox?

Botox is the common term for the product used, and the treatment using Botulinum toxin. Botox was first introduced by opthalmic surgeons who injected it near the eye to stop facial tics and they noticed that it reduced the wrinkles in the skin, giving a more youthful appearance. It is now used in many areas of the face and also for many medical conditions such as migraines.  It also helps to reduce excess sweating called Hyperhydrosis.

Your Practitioner

Botox treatments are scientifically based but also an art. Dr Ros’ skill is in her assessment of your face , depth of knowledge of the anatomy of the face and placement of the Botox (which must be done to your ‘blueprint’). A medical qualification is required by law to administer Botox.

Where can Botox be used?

Botox can be injected in areas on the face and body highlighted in the image below.

Botox for the face: Forehead / Eye area / Mouth / Lips / Nasal Area / Neck

Botox for the body: Hands / Feet / Armpit

How does Botox work?

Botox helps to temporarily relax the muscles and excessive movements to smooth out the skin. The Botox attaches to the nerve endings thus stopping the message to ‘contract’ to the muscles. It is injected into the required area using tiny needles.

The Botox Treatment

After an initial assessment by Dr Ros, if Botox is right for you, you will be offered a treatment on the day or at a later date. The treatment takes about 15 minutes and the pain is minimal with a small ‘bee-sting’ like swelling subsiding within minutes. Within 36-48 hours the Botox starts to work, with full results becoming apparent after about 2 weeks. After 2 weeks you will have a follow up appointment where the effects are assessed and further Botox is administered if appropriate. These follow ups are essential so that Dr Ros is confident that you get the best results, yet with a natural look.

I found Dr Ross to be very friendly, professional and knowledgeable . I’m so glad I found you.

  2. M.S4

I first visited your lovely establishment in April and had botox, filler and Thermage and have been delighted with the results.

  3. L.H5

I am a devotee of all Radiance’s offerings.  I’m a particular fan of Thermage for the face and the eyes plus a tincy bit of Botox on my frown lines and filler in the lips.

I also use the ZO products and have just  started taking Skinade. I know I look a zillion times better than I did a few years ago and people are always saying ‘how come you always look  so healthy and glowing’.

The change is subtle – like all of Ros’s work – and I don’t look ‘done’, just annoyingly good for my age! In fact, I’m usually mistaken by strangers for being 15 years younger than I am.

  4. M.H4

I was recommended to come here by another practitioner and i am really happy with the results. The whole atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. I would recommend radiance medispa to anyone thinking of having work done.

  5. S.H5

I recently had Botox for the first time, the girls at Radiance MediSpa were so open which me feel so prepared & informed. The treatment was painless & Dr Ros’s knowledge is so reassuring.

  6. J.H5

I’ve had botox and feel much more confident now and have even had my hair cut so it’s off my face now.
