Dermal Filler Reduce wrinkles & facial lines

The Problem

As we age we lose the volume in various areas of our face; the cheeks, temples, lips and around the mouth. We also lose the elasticity of the skin and the combination leads to wrinkles and sagging skin. Dermal fillers are injected to re-volumise and tighten the skin of the face as an alternative to surgery. The most important factors when deciding to have dermal fillers are the expertise of the practitioner, your safety and the product that is being injected. The picture shows before and after tear trough correction for the tired sunken eye look.

Facial Assessment

Dr Debenham was involved in the development of the Galderma Harmony Facial Assessment Process and will guide you through this at your complimentary consultation. Dr Debenham & Nurse Helen will personally carry out your dermal fillers, Botox and follow ups. You will be required to sign a consent form after being given the time to ask any questions. Photos will be taken before each treatment.

What are Dermal Fillers?

The soft hyaluronic acid gel in dermal fillers closely resembles the natural hyaluronic acid of the body that diminishes with age.  Some dermal fillers also stimulate the production of collagen so tightening the skin.

How do Dermal Fillers work?

Dermal Fillers are injected just below the skin or deeper, depending on the area to plump up the skin giving instant results. There are many types of filler that Dr Debenham will choose from for the specific area of your face that she will be treating. The majority of fillers are pure hyaluronic acid that is present in the body naturally. If you liken your skin to a mattress, the springs are the collagen and the padding around is the hyaluronic acid. All the fillers Dr Debenham uses are not permanent. One type of filler that is used contains a molecule that actually stimulates the body to produce collagen and tends to give a more longer lasting effect.

How are Dermal fillers injected?

It is important for you to feel comfortable with the results of dermal fillers so you will have plenty of time to discuss what you are looking to achieve and see before and after pictures from treatments that Dr Debenham has carried out.

After the skin has been numbed using local anaesthetic cream Dr Debenham injects using a very fine needle or canula so that the treatment is comfortable.  She often uses a collagen mask after the treatment to minimise the signs of a treatment having been done.

Results from Dermal Fillers

• Forehead – reduction of horizontal wrinkles and often paired with Botox treatments

• Frown – reduction of the ‘number 11s’ and horizontal lines between the brows and often paired with Botox treatments

• Crow’s feet – reduction of the fine lines and often paired with Botox treatments

• Tired, sunken eye appearance – this is the ‘Tear trough’ area that affects all ages. Treatment here giving a rested, youthful look.

• Chin – increase in volume in a small chin.

• Lips – reduction of smokers lines, lipstick bleed area and increase in volume for thin lips or those that have lost volume with age.

• Cheeks – increase in volume of cheeks that have lost volume with age or addition of volume to define the cheek bones.

• Neck – reduction of the ‘necklace lines’ and often paired with Botox treatment

Often there is little obvious evidence of a treatment having been done but sometimes there is some swelling and bruising. Dr Debenham uses the latest ‘canula techniques’ to minimise the downtime. The range of fillers used are specifically chosen for their safety and lack of downtime. Please note that Lesley Ash had permanent fillers in her lips and had infections that caused her deformity. Dr Debenham does not use any permanent fillers.

I’ve had so many people say – “retirement obviously suits you, you look years younger!

  2. M.I4

I have had filler to the area between my brows which was very flat. It has changed my appearance and i no longer need to cover my face with my fringe.

Ros is an ‘artist’ with her fillers.  So so subtle. My smokers’ lines have gone as have my misery lines. Totally natural.  Thanks to Ros, I have the lips of someone who’s never smoked and who has smiled throughout her life.

I was recommended to come here by another practitioner and am really pleased with the results from filler around my mouth. I will tell other people to come it’s so relaxing here.

I just wanted to say a big thank you for the treatments I have received since last summer when unintentional weight loss left we with a very gaunt look. The subtle changes have transformed my face to a lovely fuller and glowing look which many of friends and colleagues have commented on in a very positive way. I not only look so much better in a very natural way but feel so much more positive about myself.

Radiance MediSpa is an oasis in the heart of Exeter. Always immaculate, bright and welcoming you have to pinch yourself to remember you are in Exeter and not at a spa in the Capital. The clinic stands out from other clinics for me as it always offers the latest in skincare and treatments. The clinic obviously is proud of its ability to offer the best treatments on the market and does not just remain offering the same treatments as they have always done. This ensures that the customer has the choice of the latest techniques available. The main reason that I consult with Dr Ros is that she takes the time to discuss your individual requirements and expectations. She spends time discussing the results and why she feels that the treatment she recommends will suit you as an individual. You never feel that it is a ‘One Size Fits All’ consultation or treatment. I would be very happy to recommend the Spa and Dr Ros in particular to friends and family.

Show me a woman who is looking the best she has done for years – quite possibly the best in her life – and Radiance Medispa is probably behind it. Dr Ros Debenham and her team achieve the most remarkable results. I am almost embarrassed with the number of compliments I get on how well I look – compliments I certainly wouldn’t have got a few years ago! So much so I’m almost tempted to start lying about my age!! I think the key to the phenomenal success of Radiance is twofold. Firstly, Dr Ros invests heavily in best training, best equipment and best products for her practice resulting in a highly motivated and knowledgeable team who you trust with all aspects of your ‘beauty’. Secondly, Ros’s craft as an aesthetic practitioner is outstanding. She is as much an artist as she is a doctor, studying every twist and turn of your face in the finest detail and, with candour, advising what’s necessary – and sometimes telling you that you’re just fine as you are!
