Plasma Pen

Non Surgical Blepharoplasty, smoker's lines, crow's feet, skin tags and mole treatment

From £375

The Problem

As we age we lose the elasticity of the skin so we develop wrinkles and excess skin in various areas on the body and face. Areas that particularly show this are the eyelids, under eyes and upper lip ‘smoker’s lines’. Skin tags and moles can also be of concern to your appearance.

The Solution

Plasma pen uses plasma energy to shrink the skin to produce tightening. Traditionally the treatment of choice for the eyelids was a blepharoplasty operation under local or general anaesthetic with the ensuing bruising, scars and stigma attached. Smoker’s lines used to be treated with dermal fillers with less longevity of results than the Plasma Pen.

What areas can be treated with Plasma pen?

  • Upper and/or lower eyelids, non-surgical blepharoplasty
  • Smokers lines around the mouth
  • Wrinkles on the cheeks
  • Neck tightening
  • Brow lift
  • Upper arms
  • Knees
  • Tummy especially post baby
  • Stretch marks
  • Xanthelasmata
  • Skin tags
  • Warts
  • Moles

How does Plasma pen work?

Plasma pen uses plasma energy to coagulate (shrink) the very top surface of the skin causing instant tightening. Because the energy does not go as deep as the basal membrane in the skin there is no bleeding and no actual cutting of the skin.

Charlotte and Jade will personally carry out your Plasma pen treatment. You will be required to sign a consent form after being given the time to ask any questions. Photos will be taken before your treatment.

The Treatment

Local anaesthetic is applied to the skin before the treatment. A tiny probe is held just above the skin which causes the plasma energy to be directed at the skin.

The very top layer of skin is sublimated (shrunk) and there are tiny brown dots on it. After the treatment a special oxygenating sun-cream is applied. This makes the skin dry up rapidly and protects it from sun damage. Depending on the amount of loose skin, a second treatment may be required.

The Downtime

The area will be slightly swollen for a few days and be dry and have a cracked appearance. At about day 5-7 the dry skin flakes off revealing very slightly pink skin but no scar.

Depending on the area treated, the treatment is more obvious. Treatment to the upper lid is surprisingly un-obvious due to the crease of the lid.

Dermalux LED light (£50) can be used to ‘super prepare’ the skin, reduce post-treatment swelling and hasten the recovery process. A course or 6 can be added for just £150.

Plasma pen Aftercare

Oxygenating sun-cream must be used after the treatment until the skin flakes off & can be continued as sun-cream/foundation. The skin must not be picked as this may lead to pigmentation.

Dermalux LED hastens the recovery period £50 each or £150 for 6.

Nanopore Mesotherapy Microneedling can also be used post-treatment.

How long does Plasma Pen last?

Plasma pen works by tightening the skin and the results will last until the skin has lost more collagen and literally stretched. The results last as long as surgery to the area.

Who carries out the Plasma Pen treatments?

Charlotte and Jade carry out all Plasma pen treatments.

Am I suitable for Plasma Pen?

An assessment with Charlotte or Jade is required for anyone considering Plasma pen. You will be required to fill out a medical form to rule out any conditions that might contraindicate a treatment.

If you have a mole it should be checked by your GP prior to treatment. Skin tags and Seborrhoeic warts can be effectively removed.

There is very little that contraindicates a Plasma pen treatment and it can even be carried out on people who are immunosuppressed.
